What to expect

Every hunter and crew carries a rank — Concord R0–R4 — tracked by the boards that bother to track anything. Rank gates which postings you can even accept. The system exists because a dead hunter is bad for business.

Every posting comes from a board — a fixer net, guild docket, corp relay, or street terminal run by someone who is not you. That board owner sources the contract, vouches (or doesn't) for the client, and takes an agent fee off the gross before you see a credstick. Fees vary by board; each listing shows the cut clearly.

Most jobs are not kill contracts. Arrest, proof-of-life, repo, salvage, and data recovery pay the rent. Lethal postings exist — especially on gray boards — but reputable houses prefer marks who can still talk.

Arrest
Bring the mark in alive and identifiable. Restraints, med clearance, and chain-of-custody paperwork are on you until handoff.
POL
Proof of Life
Confirm the mark is alive at a stated time — retinal scan, live comms, or third-party witness. No capture required unless the posting says otherwise.
POD
Proof of Death
Certified proof the mark is dead — scanner match, coroner chip, or client-approved forensic packet. Body recovery may be optional; read the terms.
KILL
Kill Contract
Lethal collection authorized. Still needs verifiable proof — don't expect payout for a story and a shrug. Rare on reputable boards.
RECOVER
Recovery
Return a person, object, or vessel to the client — stolen cargo, kidnapped dependant, hijacked skiff. Force is a tool, not the job.
REPO
Repo / Skip Trace
Locate a debtor or absconded lessee and recover property, payment, or signed surrender. Most work is doors knocked and docks watched.
SALVAGE
Salvage Rights
Secure contested property — berth, pod, crate lot, or wreck claim — and hold it until the client’s title clears. Muscle often beats bullets.
DATA
Data Recovery
Retrieve files, slices, or hardware intact. Marks may be people or empty corridors. Quiet entry beats a firefight.
ESCORT
Witness Escort
Deliver a living witness to a court, corp desk, or safe handoff. Alive on arrival. Route and counter-surveillance are part of the fee.
ESCORT
Protective Escort
Keep the named person safe, present, and able to complete the posted work. Deterrence, access, and staying at their shoulder matter more than starting a fight.
DELIVER
Delivery / Haul
Move the consignment intact and on schedule, handoff to handoff. The pay is in the trust — break the seal, blow the clock, or lose the crate and you lose the client, not just the fee.
SURVEY
Survey / Field Study
Collect samples, run instruments, or document conditions per the posted protocol. Chain-of-custody and instrument care matter as much as showing up — bad data voids the fee.
ENVOY
Diplomatic Mandate
Convene the named parties, preserve their standing, and return a witnessed instrument all sides can actually honor. Moving the delegates is logistics; securing consent is the job.
