Why the set starts late

I make music for the hour after the loud people leave. Concord-born down-stack, not Spire glass. Dock work taught my back; creditors taught my patience; a one-pickup guitar taught me which verses are true. Undercity blues. Smoked baritone. Sparse drums. Room small enough to smell stale beer and mag-rail ozone.

The songs are debt that has a melody, empty booths, affairs that never got a receipt, two hours till shift when sleep won't come, neon on wet steel. I leave space in every verse on purpose. Booking agents call it come-down music. Dock clerks call it the set that starts when they finally sit.

This album is for people who still owe the week and know the meter keeps running anyway. Not country swagger. Not gang stomp. Not lounge strut. Brass Vein alleys and tavern-level back rooms where the Spire's reflection doesn't reach. Last Call on Brass Vein first. Tune slow.
