Wakeglass Drift is a TL11 transit buffer for drives and navigation hardware that cannot tolerate the ragged power profile of a ship crossing a gate wake. Its translucent ceramic ribs aren’t decoration; each darkens around a stressed superconducting channel, giving a technician a crude thermal map before the diagnostics finish booting. A vacuum-jacketed storage torus floats inside a carbon lattice, with conventional copper service gear around the edges. Under correction it emits a glassy chime and a cold-air crackle, while the quench radiator can turn a cramped bay brutally hot in seconds.

Quick-release panels expose cryocooler heads, optical governors, and isolation switches. The torus remains sealed. Wakeglass carries a precision bus through microsecond dropouts and several minutes of degraded feed, keeping guidance coherent when cheaper buffers would reboot it. Financing includes mandatory quench telemetry. Refuse the upload and it keeps working, but Amperex withholds certified coolant cartridges—forcing crews into gray-market refills with adventurous purity.
