Ashline Salvage Optic

Ashline was built to see through smoke after ship fires, then stolen from a rescue locker and taught less charitable work. The goggle combines thermal imaging, polarized lidar, and a short-range density map. Through soot it shows hot cables, hollow walls, buried bodies, and cargo that has not cooled with its surroundings. Melt scars cross the left lens but vanish when the display wakes. The unit seals against dust; its nose pad does not seal against somebody else’s sweat. Salvagers love it in burned wrecks. Thieves love it in warehouses. Rescue crews would quite like it back, serial plate or no serial plate.
