Touch two hidden contacts and the visible number blooms into a different sequence, complete with a matching ownership chip in the magazine well. The change takes thirty seconds and leaves the frame smelling of ozone. Beneath the trick sits a surplus police pistol rebuilt with mismatched springs and a barrel polished past wisdom. It shoots straight when clean. Cheap ammunition makes the extractor skip. Four identities come installed; one belongs to a museum weapon, one to a dead officer, and two are anybody’s guess. Bargain mystery is still mystery.
