Red Ledger armor is stitched from ballistic cloth removed from expired security vests, overlapped until the weak spots stop lining up, then quilted inside a red vinyl cover. The vinyl came from restaurant booths and still smells faintly of disinfectant when warm. Panels fold into bags, door cards, or the back of a loose coat. They catch fragments and may soften handgun fire, though every layer has already lived one life. The seller marks repaired tears with silver thread instead of hiding them. Oddly honest, for this stall. Waterlogged panels become heavy and unreliable. If one has dried into a wavy shape, leave it for somebody with more optimism.
