Wakeglass Unmarked Armor Panel

Wakeglass panels are translucent ceramic armor shaved from damaged patrol shields, cut square, then smoked black in a furnace that leaves rainbow edges. No serial survives. No maker admits the layup. Taped inside a van door or coat back, one panel may turn a pistol round into a bruise and a furious shower of grit. The panel is rigid, awkward, and brittle after its first serious hit. Sellers hold it to a lamp to prove there are no cracks; smart buyers bring their own lamp. Each piece comes wrapped in carpet and oily paper. The carpet is often cleaner than the armor, which tells you plenty about the supply chain.
