Twin maraging-steel dogs enter sockets above and below the jamb; a ribbed ceramic escutcheon keeps gloved hands off the optical badge reader. Installation requires welded receiver cups, an isolated ship-power spur, and a manual release cable routed to the watch station—not conveniently beside the door, thanks. Access accepts crew badges, timed passenger chits, or two-person watch authorization. A sealed paper spool prints each opening, denial, pressure interlock, and release pull while the controller retains 10,000 signed events.
