Hard Mercy Anchor is a transit inspector’s latch examiner, built to test doors that must remain closed while everyone argues about jurisdiction. A clamping steel yoke straddles the jamb and reads bolt travel through vibration, magnetic flux, and motor current; no service-port access is required. The operator installs two ceramic shoes, winds the contact screw finger-tight, and enters the door’s seal number before testing. It can verify a vault, pressure door, or cargo cage without commanding an open. Results print on a carbon strip and remain in sealed memory for 2,000 inspections, including failed calibrations and removed clamps. Passing freight can create false “partial withdrawal” readings on thin cages, so inspectors are supposed to test twice. The rechargeable pack lasts twelve hours.
