Hullside Hearth is meant for temporary field stores: relief medicine, survey explosives, sealed evidence, all the things people become inventive around. The latch sandwiches a door edge between ribbed ceramic jaws and drives a tungsten-faced pin through a supplied receiver plate. No welding is needed, but the installer must drill two clean holes and torque four captive bolts in sequence. Access comes from paired metal tokens—one held by the site lead, one by stores—or from an emergency break key sealed in resin. A mechanical number drum records every pin withdrawal; local memory adds token identities, denied pairings, and case movement from a crude accelerometer. Wind and loose sheet metal can cause false movement alarms. The replaceable battery runs ninety days and remains useful in camps with no grid at all. Breaking the resin key seal may save a life, but it also starts an inquiry. In aid zones, that can mean losing custody of the entire shipment.
