Wayfarer Picket is a field gate latch for landing pads, excavation fences, and temporary compounds where “temporary” routinely survives three winters. A ribbed ceramic hood shields a galvanized steel drawbar and motorized pawl. The bar mounts across paired posts with saddle clamps; installation needs no welding, though each post must be braced or the first vehicle bump will turn precision hardware into an expensive hinge. Access uses rugged crew fobs, a keypad code, or a padlocked manual throw. The controller keeps 4,000 events and punches a numbered paper disk whenever the manual throw moves. Wind-shaken chain mesh can cause false vibration alarms; opening events remain distinct. A small solar sheet maintains the battery, which otherwise lasts forty days and one hundred cycles. Picket is sold as access control, not a crash barrier. Blocking a lawful inspector with one can bring trespass charges against the owner, while leaving the manual padlock closed during an evacuation can bring something considerably uglier.
