The Nightglass Jian begins as honest spring steel, then spends three days in a vacuum kiln while carbon crystal grows across the edge one black layer at a time. Under berth light the coating looks oily, almost wet. Under mage sight it holds a thin blue line where the lattice was taught to accept a working without bleeding charge into the hilt. The result is a straight, double-edged sword that bites armor far above its weight and takes enchantment cleanly—provided the owner does not chip it prying open a cargo hatch like an idiot. Bound Arms includes a grounded scabbard, two edge sleeves, and one stern lecture about never touching the blade to test whether the clerk is lying.
Restricted arcane weapon. Gate transit requires a bonded-owner declaration and a sealed scabbard.
