Iron Choir lockers are made from riveted plate and stubbornness. The double doors meet behind a vertical locking bar that drops into deck and overhead sockets, so opening the cabinet by peeling one corner is nearly impossible. Felt-lined weapon forks stop rifles from clanging when the ship rolls. A narrow drawer below holds magazines, cleaning rods, and the one key nobody admits losing. There are no electronics beyond a door switch for the compartment alarm. This makes the locker useless for remote inventory and excellent after an electromagnetic tantrum. Salvage crews often repaint them. The original cream enamel always comes through at the edges, along with stenciled numbers from some dead patrol service.
