Power Armor Shoulder Actuator

This replacement shoulder actuator arrives in a shock case full of foam and stern alignment cards. Braided artificial muscle surrounds a compact rotary joint, giving powered armor both lifting force and the small controlled motions needed to shoulder a weapon. The housing is universal only in the way station food is universal: adapters make it fit, but somebody pays in discomfort. Calibration scars appear as blue lines after overload. One line is acceptable. Three mean the joint has spent time doing work its engineers did not endorse. The actuator is sold dry; technicians must fill it with suit-compatible coolant. Mixing coolants produces pink gel and a maintenance story that travels.
