A false-color thermal layer bonded behind the cornea for hunt work in cold holds, smoke, and dark machine decks. Bodies and hot machines read as bright; cold bulkheads go dead. It does not see through walls, and reflective insulation can fool it into painting a cold ghost where a person hides. Runs on an A-cell with cuff-pad top-ups; optional sealed PAN can share a single thermal snapshot to a crew slate. Continuous use cooks the layer — Glassnerve's warranty card is very clear about that.
Registered augment. Some Concord berths treat active thermal overlays as security equipment.
