Verdigris Shadow Field Rig

Named for the freighter whose engineer commissioned it, the Verdigris Shadow rig looks like a long, badly behaved leather coat until the wearer opens it on a fitting rack. “Shadow” is the product-line joke, not a force field: monocrys weave, cooling capillaries, hardwired optic leads, and labeled evidence pockets do the work. The duster covers a fitted layer of flexible armor from shoulder to shin without turning every doorway into a negotiation. Its armored shades carry infrared, low-light, rangefinding, and a local recorder, all wired through the collar instead of chatting with whatever network happens to be nearby. Gloves, reinforced boots, a real leather gun belt, two thermal-obscurant capsules, and a courier pack round out the kit. The pack is organized for a bounty hunter who expects locks, bleeding, vacuum alarms, and paperwork in roughly that order. Signature weapons are not included. Outfitters has learned to print that sentence in large type.
