The Sealmark long rifle comes in a foam-lined transit coffin with a bipod, weather hood, range notebook, and exactly no romance. Its free-floating barrel and rigid composite chassis hold zero after the sort of shuttle ride that rearranges teeth. The optic combines clean magnification with a simple laser rangefinder; wind calls remain the shooter’s problem. Controls are large enough for cold gloves, and the bolt can be stripped without removing the scope. At full length it is miserable in corridors and impossible to hide without insulting everyone’s intelligence. Out beyond a habitat’s lights, settled into grit with the stock against your shoulder, it becomes a very patient machine.
