The kit pairs breathable drying pelts with fresh bundles of smokeleaf, corridor mint, bitter resin, and three lesser herbs selected for the buyer's berth climate. Rubbed between fingers, they smell of cold hearth ash, menthol, and pine tar. Hang stems apart in moving shade; direct grow-light bleaches the oils, while a wet pelt turns the whole locker furry. Dock families use the herbs for broth, poultices, and the small comfort of a recognizable smell. Officers buy labeled jars. Wealthy diners buy the same leaves with a grower's portrait attached. The pelts wick water from cut stems into a charcoal substrate and must be aired daily. Fold them warm, store them beside fungus cultures, or mistake spotted leaves for harmless age and the kit becomes a respiratory hazard with excellent branding.
