Winter-Ash is a walk-in cage of spray bars, heat lamps, scrub brushes, and drains large enough to swallow the kind of sludge nobody wants named in a manifest. It strips chemical residue, radioactive dust, biological contamination, propellant soot, and most of the pride from a returning suit. The quench cycle cools overheated plate slowly enough to avoid cracking the laminate.
A clean cycle ends with warm dry air and the smell of pine resin. White Mane admits this choice was sentimental.
