Khesret-IX

Overview

Khesret-IX

Khesret-IX is the system's gas giant — a banded bruise on the outer sky that never sets for half the hemisphere and never apologizes for the weather it sends inward. You do not colonize Khesret-IX. You skim it, escort through it, or bill insurance on people who tried to do the first without the second.

The scoop corridor is the only address most spacers know: hydrogen lanes where fuel tugs drink atmosphere under Concord escort, ion glare, and the permanent roar of engines that sound like the system exhaling. Transient crews in the millions — pilots, gunners, adjusters, journalists who write about yachts that "withdrew" their statements. A few cold moons and shepherd habitats cling to the magnetosphere for tax reasons; nobody calls them home unless the ledger requires it.

From Khesret-Prime, IX is the rim — the place where hub polish ends and real space begins. Hunters rarely work here until a posting pays R2 or the scoop lane hiccups hard enough to need bodies with badges.
