Ember Port is the only address most people bother learning on Rim Ember — a pressurized dock spine bolted to a ridge of plant halls, with cargo lifts that sound like coughing and customs clerks who tax your air before they tax your freight.
Outside the glass: dust, plant arrays, the wrong-colored sky. Inside: temporary housing allotments, contractor bars that smell like solvent and optimism past its date, and a medical triage bay that practices polite rationing. Orchard freighters get priority berths. Everyone else waits in the yellow zone and watches the atmo plant status board the way other systems watch stock tickers.
