Khlir-Rend Beacon Layer

Overview

Khlir-Rend Beacon Layer is a surface listening post on the dust flats of Khlir-Rend, in sight of a secondary gate ring. There is no formal starport: tone-stakes, chirp profilers, and a keeper dugout mark an X landing. Scout crews log gate approach geometry, UWP confirmation, and the layer's chirp profile for Mutual Charter filing. A planted false marker can add a second chirp whose coordinates do not match the charter cairn.

scale
surface beacon layer — dust flats, tone-stakes, chirp profilers, keeper dugout, charter cairns; no formal berth
tone
Silent dust; chirp before voice; a forged filing costs more than a shot
senses
Dust on the tongue, thin air, profiler ping harmonics, ear-ring flash on the porch, gate ring glint at horizon, kettle that never quite boils
occupantSummary
Beacon keeper Nix Beacon-Layer and occasional Thul'vaneh liaison chirps on the wire; rare scoop tenders; scout crews under escort only
hazards
Planted false marker steers traffic wrong if logged as official; charter forgery felony if crew sells the discrepancy; silent approach required — transponder chatter insults the keeper
connections
Dust-hop from secondary gate ring under keeper escort; no fuel stop on-site; Thul'vaneh Core one gate hop home
travelNote
X landing only — park on marked dust flats, match profiler serials to client packet before touching tone-stakes
factionTies
Mutual Charter frontier filing; Incentive House arbitrage touch via planted marker; Goblishili insurers on beacon infrastructure
