The Foldspike rides beside a pilot’s seat without snagging every cable in the cabin. Its short, broad head locks onto a telescoping truss shaft with two opposed Karthunai wedge catches—ugly little blocks of pale alloy that hold even after grit gets into the sleeve. Extended, it is a proper close-order spear. Collapsed, it makes a stout emergency bar and a very poor social introduction. Kethline cuts the pressure-glove grip in three circumferences, so the same pattern serves human deckhands, broad-pawed Karthunai, and narrow-handed travelers without the usual spacer’s tape-and-cursing retrofit.
Licensed melee arm; compact carriage does not exempt it from station weapons law.
