The harness crosses the shoulders, hips, and weapon arm with damped straps that catch recoil before it folds a shooter into nearby furniture. Kethline sells the same bones in two fits: a soft rig for ordinary bodies and hard anchors for powered armor. Karthunai gunners wear them tight enough to leave a map on the undersuit.
