Mars is the workshop planet — heavy terraform still in progress: atmo thickeners hiss on ridgelines, magnetosphere projects drink budget like thirst, and dome cantons open to thin red sky like a promise someone is actually keeping. Dust is weather. Patience is citizenship. The air tastes of iron and recycled courage.

A full planetary state in the Solaris Federation, Mars runs fleet yards, foundries, and Tesla's largest heavy assembly campuses. Mars builds the big chassis: Concord gate-maintenance frames, tunnel welders, industrial haulers, and final assemblies that arrive carrying components from Earth, certification blocks from Luna, and service revisions written in the belt. Tesla is a Sol-system corporation. Mars is its headquarters and heavy-industrial heart, not its only factory.

Shift horns mark yard districts where welders share lunch with lawyers who enforce the Solaris–Hardfell Automation Compact — no autominer export, no licensed full-production lines beyond Sol, no apologies. Twenty-point residency is industrial prestige: you belong because you build what the system runs on, not because the view is pretty. When a strike hits the primary yard, Luna hears it before the dust settles, Earth procurement starts counting hours, and belt depots begin hoarding spares.
