The Sol System

Overview

The Sol System

The Sol system is the human home system — still the densest private wealth in the arm and still sealed to casual traffic in 2277. Spacers who never visit imagine a museum with good lighting. Residents imagine a household with a navy, a guest list shorter than your credit line, and permits that expire if you breathe wrong near Luna approach.

Earth is the home planet inside that system — cradle world, restored buffer states, and the two gigacorp arcologies. Do not confuse the planet with the system: Earth is one world; the Sol system is the sealed ancestral bubble around it.

The inner rocky worlds use real names and real orbits: Mercury keeps polar ice domes under sun-shade mirrors; Venus floats acid-proof cantons in the cloud decks while the surface remains a centuries-long terraform lecture; Earth holds restored buffer states for the elite and two gigacorp arcologiesHelix Basin (~six hundred million workers) and Northreach Cantilever (~five hundred fifty million) — where the horizon is always someone else's shift. Luna is regolith domes and federal courts; Mars is red cantons opening to thin sky and the yards that build what the bubble runs on.

Beyond the inner ring: Ceres and the Belt Territorial States, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto under the Jovian charter (Io is industrial rotation only — no family residency), Titan and Enceladus in Saturn's orange haze, and a deep perimeter of curated stations where wealth goes to be alone. Concord owns the rings to the Orion Corridor; Solaris patrols and Concord bills. Tesla on Mars builds gate labor, sky cars, and autominers for the Sol system only — the Hardfell Industrial League treaty keeps them out of real space, where dwarves still run Extraction Frames and captains plan for pirates and the occasional thing nesting in a hollow rock.
