Thornward Primus

Overview

Thornward Primus

Thornward Primus is a Crodoc imperial cradle system — named on the charts for the thorn-hedge founding myth and the Primus honorific the Navy gives its first-built fleet yards in a new arm. It is not Khesret. It is not Concord's ring economy. It is the kind of address you memorize when the Empress orders a launch and the logistics tables start quoting lead times in generations.

The habitable world is a rust-iron ocean planet under a thin, breathable sky: storm belts that never quite earn a disaster declaration, basalt quays that climb into orbital shell districts, and cities that smell like shipyards even when nobody is welding. Spacers know Thornward for two exports — warships that arrive on time, and officers who can argue prize law without raising their voice. The Empress Quay hangs in the inner shell above the equatorial sea lanes; surface yards still hot-weld keels while orbit names them.

On Corridor hubs you hear Thornward the way you hear academy names — distant, respectable, slightly impatient with civilians who treat navies like taxi companies. Diaspora Crodoc toast frost-berry wine when a Thornward keel clears review. Everyone else reads the delayed wire and hopes the launch is not aimed at their contract lane.
