Crodoc

Crodoc — *the empire that treats education like armor and navies like theology.*

Concord clerks file them as "large humanoid imperial stock," which is what you write when you have never stood next to a Crodoc quartermaster who can recite your hull's supply burn better than your own engineer. The Crodoc are sapient, common across the Orion Corridor, and impossible to mistake for humans once the jawline catches the light.

Form — Adults commonly stand six and a half to eight feet. Males carry enormous muscular mass across broad shoulders and dense frames; females run slightly shorter and leaner — and are often faster, colder in judgment, and more dangerous when the problem requires a war instead of a brawl. Skin ranges deep bronze to true black. Prominent jaws are a species constant. Male canines are always visible at rest; female canines stay subtler until speech or threat brings them forward. Eyes run amber, gold, dark brown, orange, near-black. Hair spans black through white, grey, sandy gold, and deep red. They are not reptiles, not "space orcs," and they will correct you once.

Empire — The Crodoc Empire is a matriarchal imperial state under an Empress, only slightly larger than the human Solaris Federation and currently a formal ally. Their Imperial Navy is widely regarded as the best navy in the Corridor — logistics doctrine, academy pipelines, and fleet coordination that make other powers look like they are still inventing patience. Education is civic infrastructure: primary, required secondary, and field tertiary schools that treat naval strategy, engineering, medicine, and Magery as the same seriousness dwarves give metallurgy.

On Khesret they are everyday traffic: treaty attachés at the Spire, convoy officers on Lagrange, academy exchange students arguing astronomy in undercity cafés, shock-line contractors who wait for a female officer's word before they learn the word *retreat*. Opera halls sit next to war colleges. Philosophers duel over history. The teeth are real. So is the syllabus.
