The Berthline Party — ballot label Berthline, no cute acronym on the poster — swept the 2277 Solaris Federation elections on a message dockhands could repeat without a speechwriter: security you can see, living costs that stop winning, and ring fees that stop treating jump traffic like a luxury sin tax. Their logo is a horizontal berth-hatch stripe on federal blue. Their rallies smell like recycled berth air and honest anger.

Old parties still exist — Continuity Caucus, Corporate Coalition, rim autonomy blocs — but the Berthline wave took executive office, Senate majorities in twelve core systems, and enough rim districts to make Colonial Affairs nervous. They are not anti-Concord in public. They are anti-getting smoked by Concord pass-through fees while Navy recruiters show you a poster and a shrug.

President Hana Ishikura is the Berthline standard-bearer: Keihin lunar heritage, accountant's spine, security expansion mandates, and a Ring Fee Integrity Act that corporate counsel calls "aspirational" and spacers call "about time."
