Kethline Combatworks

Major Karthunai joint venture — Concord-gate melee retail, licensed arena services, and plate-scale special orders.

Our Mission

Kethline Combatworks — Good steel. Clean license. Try not to dent the floor.

Kethline is what happened when White Mane Shockworks got tired of seeing its powered-plate interfaces bolted into cheap arena junk, and the Oathplate Pit Guild got tired of explaining that a champion's endorsement did not make a cracked servo legal. The two Karthunai houses formed a joint venture, hired retail operators who understood species anatomy, and opened the first Combatworks shop under a Concord gate concourse. It smelled of hot sealant, old canvas, and somebody's lunch burning behind the fitting booths. The queue ran around the block.

Now the black-and-silver Kethline mark hangs over melee shops from inner-arm transit hubs to Khesret's colder berths. Most branches sell practical violence: impact liners, legal shock batons, sparring shells, weighted practice blades, gauntlet interfaces, and fitted protection for human, Elari, Goblishili, Vethari, and stranger bodies the franchise manual describes with admirable caution. Every counter has an Oathplate bout feed muttering in one corner and a White Mane diagnostic cradle whining in another. Staff will measure your reach, check local carry law, and tell you—without smiling—that copying a champion's balance profile is a fine way to tear your own shoulder out.

The expensive work happens off-menu. Karthun customers can order plate-scale fittings built around leonine mass, claw clearance, mane seals, and cold-rated powered joints. Other species can commission adapted exo interfaces, but Kethline refuses to pretend one chassis fits everybody. The shops make their money on ordinary gear and weekend league packages; the reputation comes from special orders that survive boarding drills, pit qualifiers, and the baggage handlers at Meridian.

Kethline's advertising leans hard on challenge culture—champion fittings, licensed store bouts, scar stories printed beside the warranty desk—but the company is not a ministry and its winners do not inherit public office. Karth Deep is a republic. Councils are elected, citizen courts license the sport, and a famous fighter gets sponsorships, standing, and perhaps an unbearable memoir. Not a throne. The distinction matters, especially to Kethline's lawyers, who have had to print it on more than one franchise wall.
