Testing requires a gel-coupled probe head; it inserts a low-energy coded burst between live packets and listens for the return. Results travel with raw waveforms, probe serial, calibration age, and uncertainty bands, so a later investigator can see the sausage being made. Calibration uses a layered density tile; mismatched serials remain attached to the result instead of being waved away. The transit pattern averages longer runs to stay useful through vibration and changing gravity. Clean the coupler contacts, retorque the antenna collar, and replace the clock cell every six months.
