Coldrail Pressure Gauntlet Set

Coldrail gauntlets were designed for cryogenic cargo work, where touching the wrong fitting through ordinary pressure gloves can freeze a hand before pain arrives. Aerogel pads cover palm and fingers, while powered tendons preserve grip despite the insulation. Thermal dots across the knuckles change color to show contact temperature. The dots remain visible after power loss, which has embarrassed more than one “smart” glove maker. Grip surfaces are rough ceramic and will scar polished tools. Dock crews consider that the tool’s problem. A cuff heater keeps seals flexible but drains cells quickly when the suit is already cold. Carry spares inside the pressure layer, not in an exterior pocket where they become decorative bricks.
