The Last Berth helmet is made for work on the dark side of something nobody can tow into sunlight. A double visor traps a thin layer of insulating aerogel, while heated seals keep breath frost from welding the faceplate shut. Side lamps throw broad amber light that preserves contrast on ice. The inner hood smells faintly of cedar because the maker discovered crews cleaned pleasant gear more often. Controls are physical ridges readable through gloves. If the heater fails, a chemical pull-tab clears one palm-sized patch of visor for twenty minutes. That is not much view. It is enough to find the hatch, the tether, or the hand reaching for you.
