Nightshift Maneuver Thruster Belt

Nightshift’s belt was made for exterior security teams who prefer not to announce themselves with bright maneuver jets. Compressed nitrogen vents through broad black diffusers, producing little visible plume and a soft cough transmitted mostly through the suit. Controls are tactile paddles under hinged guards. A luminous bead on each hip gives orientation when the stars stop helping. The belt carries less gas than industrial models, but its bottles swap quickly and fit inside a patrol locker. Paint wears first around the emergency stop, revealing bare metal polished by nervous thumbs. In darkness the belt is quiet. Inside the wearer’s helmet, every firing still sounds like somebody kicking a door.
