Red Ledger sells the cheapest honest radiation cape in Glace Span. Sheets of leaded polymer are sewn into a canvas mantle with broad red overlap marks showing exactly where one flap must cover the next. It smells of rubber, chalk, and old storage. The cape is heavy across the collarbones and nearly impossible to climb in without tying the hem. It shields well from one direction, poorly from the sides, and not at all from foolishness. Chalk panels accept dose and date notes because its passive badge only changes color. Reactor crews write names inside the collar. Salvagers write blood types.
