Kitewire Dead-Moon Shelter was made for crews who solve the immediate problem before arguing about whose fault it was. It is a folding pressure refuge for stranded EVA crews, sized and arranged for the cramped geometry of berths, utility lockers, pressure doors, and crowded capture scenes. Edges are rounded for suit fabric, while every latch stays coarse enough for wet gloves, cold gloves, or hands shaking after a chase. A practiced operator can work the controls by touch, useful when a visor fogs, a target kicks, or the only lamp is pointed somewhere stupid. Its handling reflects the job: mass stays close to the operator, controls remain readable under poor light, and any consumable can be counted before the hatch opens. The failure worth fearing is the quiet one—the loose edge, contaminated contact, weak seal, or bad reading that survives the first check and waits for load. Scars are information. Pale stress marks, stiff movement, or a seal that takes two tries mean service it now, not after one more easy run.
