Second Bell Spar Deck Workwear Crew Model begins with a low, articulated cut that clears ladder rungs and does not bunch under a restraint harness. Its shell is a waxed polycotton weave with aramid threads only at the knees, seat, and forearms; the cloth takes grease without turning brittle. Nothing heavier than a hand tool belongs in its stitched pockets; the detachable thigh wallet exists for the ugly, sharp stuff. Repair shops stitch the date inside each patch and leave the border proud. A flush, pretty repair usually means somebody hid how much cloth was cut away. In the Sump it is ordinary enough to disappear. Upstairs, the smell of machine soap announces the wearer before the clothes do. Its weak point is heat. A brief spark rolls off; sustained flame shrinks the stretch panels and locks the joints half bent.
