Hard Mercy Atmosphere Sniffer is a palm-sized sampler that draws air across replaceable chemical wafers and identifies leaks, combustion products, narcotics, and the first sour hints of failing scrubbers. Operators learn to sample low corners and warm vents rather than wave it heroically in the middle of a room. Used wafers retain contamination evidence; tossing them casually can expose a crew's route or poison the next person sorting reclamation. Oversized controls and a blunt red fault lamp make it usable with gloves, blood, or both.
