Low Orbit Spectral Survey Wand is a narrow scanner that reads reflected light, heat, and trace emissions from ore, coatings, residue, and plant matter. Surveyors sweep slowly, building a layered false-color image instead of trusting one magic beep. Its library improves with uploaded samples, but those samples can identify a claim before the owner files it. Lens windows need solvent and lint-free cloth; sleeves and optimism merely smear the evidence. Its lightweight frame clips into cramped workspaces without snagging suit webbing. Thin shielding saves mass but picks up interference near drives, so experienced users carry foil tape and an embarrassing amount of patience.
