Sera Mercy-Writ

Dr. Sera Mercy-Writ runs the Aelithstone Waystation clinic. She is Crodoc, tall, heavy through the shoulders, with amber eyes and mahogany-brown skin. She wears a white service coat over an old field harness. She has two nurses and six beds.

She checks medicine herself when a patient is already on the table. She reads phase strips and asks loaders direct questions. Station staff call her Mercy-Writ because she can reverse a requisition denial without raising her voice.

A trauma patient is waiting when the crew arrives. The plasma case on their manifest has the right seal and the wrong history. She sees fresh adhesive under the phase strip and stops the line. She does not accuse the crew. She asks them to help find who almost killed a patient with bad paperwork.
