Aelithstone Waystation
The waystation sits across the rock's night side in a chain of pressure drums and buried cold rooms. A sunline mirror feeds the grid. Imperial tugs keep the docking spine honest. You arrive under the eyes of the Medical Logistics Directorate, which means approach control knows your cargo temperature before it asks your ship name.
Inside, the station is all practical Vossaran ugliness: scuffed deck paint, numbered bulkheads, frost around the vault seals, and a galley kettle that never quite boils right. Crodoc loaders move refrigerated cases with patient care while human clerks argue over custody stamps. The clinic smells of antiseptic and hot metal. Somewhere behind the wall, compressors thump like a slow second heart.
The station exists because Imperial field hospitals and allied clinics need blood products, vaccines, surgical cultures, and antiradiation drugs that don't forgive a warm hour. Most crews leave with a stamp and a cup of broth. The unlucky ones find a case whose phase strip was replaced, a lot number copied from dead stock, or a patient already waiting for medicine nobody trusts.
